On Augustus 1st, 2004, my largest and oldest Redbellied Piranha, the one named Ed, passed away after having taken care of him for almost two-and-a-half years. I'm not sure what has caused his death: during his last night he had dined extensively from sea fruits I had bought as a treat. I noticed one or more of the fish had puked out part of their lunch, but since this is not uncommon (overfed fish often regurgitate part of their meal), I cleaned up the mess and paid no further attention to it.
The next morning however Ed was dead, surrounded by almost the entire dinner of last night. Wheter the food was bad/foul, or maybe Ed was weakened already, I don't know: what I do know is that I lost my fishy pal, my pride and glory, and that he will be missed... :(

The pictures below were taken the morning Ed passed away...

Luckily, the other fish, unaffected by the whole drama, are doing fine.
